It’s pretty natural to be nervous before a boudoir shoot, you’re potentially going to be taking off some of your clothes in front of a stranger and that’s not in the daily routine for most of us.

That worry about feeling nervous on the day and not getting the best out of your shoot can be enough to put some people off booking altogether.

I’ll say up front, and you can speak to anyone who has done a shoot with us, you’re going to get over those nerves really soon into your session and you’ll be walking on air by the time you leave.  It might be hard to believe, but I promise you, you’ll have a blast and leave feeling like a million dollars.  OK, we might not have met but I’m very trustworthy.  I kind of have to be because I am an absolutely terrible liar but either way, I’m a pretty honest girl and I wouldn’t say it if it wasn’t true.  Anyway, if you don’t want to take the word of a stranger, then here’s a couple of quick tips…

Bring Along Some Music – You’re welcome to bring along your own tunes, having them on in the background can get you in the mood, give you a boost and you can have fun making a photo shoot playlist when you’re planning.

Have a giggle. If you’re feeling a bit self-conscious acting out in front of the camera, don’t worry, just laugh. There’s nothing worse than trying to keep a straight face when you’ve come down with a case of the giggles and laughter is a great relaxer.

Know that we are unshockable.  We’re used to boudoir photo shoots, and we’ve been doing them for a long time.  Nothing shocks us, there are no silly questions or odd requests and we are not going to judge you whatever you do.  To be truthful, when we are shooting, you become kind of a collection of shapes and light to us during your session.  I don’t mean that in an uncaring way, it’s just that we are so focused on making you look fantastic that we actually kind of stop seeing you.  Whether Steve is taking the pictures or I am, I am always with you.  If you need help with suspenders or corsets or anything else, I’m kind of your girl friend for the day, just ask and I’m there.

Take a break. You are completely in control all through the boudoir photo shoots. If you simply want a break then just say so.

I don’t normally like to be negative but here’s one not to do.  We don’t suggest you drink for your session, it might seem tempting but it doesn’t always give you the best results in your finished photos. You’re going to be on a natural high by the time you leave anyway.  Course, I’m never one to advise against having something chilling in the fridge for when you get back to celebrate your bravery, your achievement and your general goddess-like status!
