Professional Boudoir Photography
So you’ve made the decision to book a boudoir photo shoot – go you! You’re going to rock it but there’s always a comfort in a little bit of planning so you know you’re totally ready for it (well there is for me anyway) so here’s some top tips on getting ready for your photo shoot.
Change it Up
When you layout your clothing to take, try and create a variety of looks. So don’t take three lingerie sets in the same style and cut. Think about clothes you’d like to be photographed in too – that’s a great way to get used to being photographed in the studio. Maybe think of a ‘modest’ outfit, something classically boudoir such as stocking and corsets and then something a bit more daring. Also think, oversized sweaters, white shirts, crop tops, whatever else you fancy to give yourself some real variety in your finished image set.
Accessorise
Don’t forget shoes, jewellery and other accessories to complete your look. If you’re not sure what the perfect accessory is, bring a selection so we can help you style yourself on the day of the shoot. It’d be annoying to know that you left the perfect necklace or pair of shoes at home.
Drink, Drink, Drink
Not alcohol although I do acknowledge a little Dutch courage is tempting. Keep hydrated on the days on the run up to your shoot and on the day of the photo shoot itself, it’ll help with your energy and concentration levels as well as your skin. Can’t say it’s a bad idea to keep a bottle of something chilling in the fridge for when you get home after your shoot though – you should probably toast yourself!
Sleep, Sleep, Sleep
Everyone looks better after a good night’s rest so try and get at least a couple of nights good quality shut eye before your shoot. Probably better not to schedule it when you know you’re going to be working super hard, super late, out on a hen night or other exciting night out, you want to be well rested and fresh as a daisy!
Relax, Relax, Relax
We’re really used to people coming to visit for boudoir photo shoots and we’ve been doing it for years. Nearly no-one who has come to us has any kind of modelling experience and so part of our job is to gently guide you through everything you need to do to create your stunning set of images. Get packed up, get hydrated, get rested and get to the studio. Then you can let us take care of everything else.
