Sumptuous overnight breaks paired with award-winning dining, bespoke weddings and family occasions, and specialists in meetings and events.

Take a stroll to discover woodland, gardens and lakes while adventuring through all 93 acres of beautiful Sussex downland. Spend time relaxing on the terrace soaking up the sun and taking in the breath-taking view of the South Downs; or explore the Victorian walled kitchen garden, a sheltered spot growing produce for the restaurants.

Play croquet before enjoying a well deserved glass of your favourite tipple in The Cellar or bar before spoiling yourself to a treat of afternoon tea or perhaps an award-winning meal in one of our restaurants. And when you retire to bed a blissful night’s sleep will be found on one of our handmade mattresses.

South Lodge Hotel is a stunning wedding venue whatever the weather, featuring gorgeous indoor spaces as well as beautifully landscaped gardens and terraces all around.

Wedding photography can begin with the bridal party’s preparations in the hotel, and there is plenty of room in the bedrooms for everyone to get ready together in comfort. The ceremony room is gorgeous, with plenty of natural light and even if the weather is bad, there is plenty of light and airy spaces where your guests can enjoy the views.

The split level terrace features a number of staircases which are perfect for group photography and from the manicured grounds to the shoe shine chair in the lobby, there are more photography opportunities than I can list here around the grounds. The challenge is usually being able to stop taking pictures here!

What we love about the location
